Focal Music - an agency service for musicians, run
by musicians.
Focal music is a dynamic and forward moving music agency, offering
professional services whilst upholding an ethical ideology. We are dedicated to
raising the profile of our artist’s music and providing a fair deal to newly
established musicians. Working with these artists we have established a strong
participatory focus through performance and education practices, creating a user
friendly service that serves as a great benefit to the local and national community,
through education and recreation. Focal Music brings the best of traditional music to
a diverse and far reaching audience, from rural community projects to international
festival stages.

BBC Radio 2 Horizon Folk Award
Focal Music Ltd. are delighted to announce that two of our acts were nominated for the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Horizon Folk Award. The Devil's Interval and Shona Kipling & Damien O'Kane were both in with a chance of winning the coveted title at this years awards at the Brewery, London. However, our congratulations go to Kris Drever who eventually won the prestigious title, we wish him every success in the future.
Shona Kipling & Damien O'Kane 'Box On'-
Shona & Damien recently released their econd album 'Box On' which is set to firmly establish the duo as one of the leading acts on the vibrant traditional music scene today. 'Box On' was released to a sold out audience on Friday October 6th 2006 at Northern Stage (formerly Newcastle Playhouse). The album is available in all good record shops or via Shona & Damien's website (FMCD02).
